A classically trained ballet dancer with over 20 years of performance experience, Jay is an extremely adept performer and a singular artist.

Not only able to perform at the highest technical level; Jay is well-versed in a diverse range of styles and theatrical techniques. Their training and professional performance credits include classical modern dance, Cunningham, screen dance, acting, release, contemporary, partnering, ballet, post-modern, and DIY/experimental techniques.

 

Jay thrives in high-intensity, virtuosic dance performance. They love to push the boundaries of their own physical capabilities. Jay also is deeply inspired when working on textural or political pieces. They have often worked with task-based, improvisational, and site-specific choreography in addition to traditional stage pieces. Their many strengths as a performer include technical dance, dance for film,

narrative work, partnering and group pieces, works with dramatic and involved set and costume design, and installation/gallery performance. Jay is an extremely passionate and dedicated performer, thoroughly enjoying the unique creative and physical challenges that every project asks of them. Their approach to performance work is open-minded and focused.
