jay is a proponent of progressive pedagogies in the dance classroom, emphasizing collaboration, empowerment, somatic investigation, and an open feedback loop within the context of a learning environment. classes are facilitated with movement offerings in which students are encouraged to explore the body and sense space. flow, weight, release techniques, energy modulation, and mind-body connection are deeply integrated into the structures of movement phrases. classes are student-centered and prioritize experiential learning.

jay teaches in a variety of settings. most recently, they have taught at Gibney Dance Center through Ballez, Dynamic Dance Academy in Dyker Heights, and in the NYC DOE public school system through Ping Chong & Company and LEAP.
